Travel to Italy

The idea to go to Italy appeared spontaneously. The main criteria were the presence of the sea, an amusement park for children and attractions. The choice fell on Rimini as the most convenient location and a good transport hub.

The territory of Rimini was inhabited in ancient times, in the 1st millennium BC. there were already settlements in 268 BC. The Romans established a colony here, and in 1295 the Malatesta family became the owners of the city, leaving the castle and temple of Malatesta as their legacy.

Arch of Augustus is the oldest Roman arch in Italy and was built in 27 AD. after the completion of the construction of the road between Rome and the Adriatic and served as a gateway in the city walls.

The historic center of Rimini is small and can be walked in 15 minutes.

There was a palace on the square of Cavour. The “Bump” fountain with drinking water (the water was tasted), until a water supply appeared in the city, it was the only source of drinking water. And p-to Paul 5. A very interesting and sincere place. Nearby, by the way. , there is a fish market.

After passing through the historic center of Rimini, go straight to Tiberius Bridge, Malatesta Castle on your left.

Of course, one cannot ignore the fact that Rimini is the birthplace of Frederico Fellini.

And the famous “Grand Hotel Rimini”, where Fellini filmed his autobiographical “Amarcord”.

We were unlucky with the weather, during the week it was raining, it was cool. So we went to Cattolica, to the oceanarium. Its territory is very large and consists of several buildings. There are penguins, sharks, an exhibition of shells, otters, terrariums. and much more. There are picnic areas under the canopy, which was very useful to us.

Separately, I want to say about the travel. What seemed so difficult, in fact, turned out to be simple and natural. The travel is divided into zones. In Rimini, yellow tickets, if you go further, you can take one green one, it is more expensive. The transport itself does not stop, its you need to brake by raising your hand. Also, if you need to get out, you need to press a button in the bus or trolleybus. The ticket must be passed through the validator, inside the bus. The stops are numbered for convenience.

The next place we visited was the amusement park in Rimini – “Fiabilandia”. The park is designed for children up to 12 years old, but we were happy to spend time there. The park is divided into zones, there is Peter Pena cave, Merlin castle, Wild West, water attractions , race track, etc. There are cafes, fountains with drinking water, which is very important in the heat. There I saw an example of how old slides from a water park are used. They make a dry attraction. They give a rug and go. The coolest attraction turned out to be ” Space mouse “, rolled about 20 times. Of the” extreme “, it is probably the only one. Also, various performances are held in the park, there is a 5D cinema.

Next on the program was our goal – “Mirabilandia” in Ravenna. From mid-June there is a direct bus, it takes a little over an hour. You can get there by train, then by bus. Maybe it will be faster, they did not check. Tickets, along with a bus ticket, bought in the tourist information center. Those who have been to Disneyland or PortAventura will not be impressed by the park, of course, but some attractions are made more interesting than similar Spanish ones. Show programs are also held there, none of which we did not get. There is a cafe and drinking water in the fountains by the toilets. We enjoyed spending 2 days there, including the water park. The water park is quite small. Includes a playground and several slides. In June there were few people, there were no queues or passed quickly. Loved the cooling ones. water curtains in the park.

We recommend visiting the park with the whole family, you will not regret it.

Then we went to Venice. Visiting it was planned and not discussed, in any weather. Pinocco Sánchez had wooden prostheses, in addition, he had a wooden nose insert, and Carlo Bestulgi had him prosthetics and Pinocco earned his performances at fairs and booths.

Then we went along the Giudecca Canal, and we are in Venice, the birthplace of Marco Polo, where his house is still preserved.

Venice, as something magical. The child was amazed, it turns out she thought that in Venice there are no sidewalks at all and they move exclusively by boats (gondolas).

We even caught a daily flood from 15-18 o’clock. We did not see the end of it, but we observed how quickly the water arrives and floods the area. There are special wooden walkways there, so that you can pass.

There are also completely tame pigeons, they sit on you and eat from your hands. That they should not be fed, we learned later, because. there are a lot of them and they pollute the city.

Venice has an amazing Museum of Glass. You cannot shoot there and you have to convey in words what wonderful things we saw there. Beautiful decorations and much more. Right in front of you, the master makes something magical out of glass (it was possible some shoot)

There are a lot of carnival masks on sale and it’s a pleasure to measure them.

Venice is a city with an ancient history, an interesting life. Wells for drinking water are still preserved, and they are used to collect rainwater. Majestic temples, which used to be monasteries. Poor girls who did not get married had two options. to live-go to a monastery or a courtesan. Therefore, the local monasteries had free morals. The film “Honest Courtesan”, which we watched on the way back, on the bus, very well illustrates the life of Venice at that time.

Temple

We liked the city, probably, Brodsky’s spirit still hovers here. Canals, gondolas, palaces, cathedrals have left an imprint on our souls.

Venice

Here we say goodbye to Venice and go to Riccione. There we plan to visit the Wildlife Park with the Oltremare Dolphinarium and the Aquafan water park.

It should be mentioned here that do not throw out tickets from previously visited parks. On them you will receive a discount when buying tickets to the following parks, as well as to the Ferris wheel. It is more profitable to buy tickets in a package, to several places at once.

But tourist information centers do not sell such tickets, you can only buy them on the spot.

The show at the Dolphinarium was not bad. Also, thanks to the transparent walls of the pool, you can watch the dolphins “from the inside”.

“Oltremare” itself was not particularly impressed. There are several attractions there, you can ride horses, a cinema, a bird show. A fish in the lake, a bird house with birds of prey, a mini-farm. The ecosystem of the Earth is presented, and the history of the origin of the Universe in the film. There is even a visual aid there, about what types of organisms start up in our houses, sofas, pillows, kitchen, etc. Very clearly. You can climb inside a tree and see who lives there, in a cut. But there is one thing that is worth the entire park as a whole. Only because of it is worth coming here. This is a recreated Jurassic park, 150 million years BC When we opened the door there and we were enveloped in fog and sounds of the rainforest, my daughter jerked and rushed back. What awaits there, in the fog? Sounds made it clear that nothing good. Emboldened, we explored this mysterious world. And even cautiously, tiptoeing into the cave, meeting there ancient insects. We saw geysers and alligators below in the river. A pterodactyl shouted at us from above, lurking in the branches, just as we and then we came across a Tyrannosaurus rex driving us away from its clutch of eggs.

Oltremare

“Aquafan”, which we visited the next day, pleased us with a variety of entertainment. The mood was spoiled by the same rain, the park was closed and we waited for a bus for half an hour, got wet and cold. But we met some amazing new friends. The water park is highly recommended.

Aquafan

By the way, there is a monument to Marilyn Monroe in Riccione.

Then we went to San Marino. I really wanted to see the castle-fortress on Mount Titano. The castle is really impregnable, and the Republic of San Marino itself was founded in the 4th century, in 301, and since then is considered an independent state. Marino is often called the oldest republic on the planet. The historic center and mountain of Monte Titano have been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2008. You can climb the mountain by cable car. The streets are small and winding. You can visit 2 towers. One of them houses the Museum of Weapons. picturesque, you directly feel like a knight in the Middle Ages. Further you can look at the Royal Palace. The 2nd World War was not spared, there is a lot of evidence of this. There is also a monument to the children of Beslan.

P-to the Beslan tragedy

There are a lot of all kinds of shops, a lot of Russian sellers. Walking around the city, despite the heat and the fact that we had to go uphill, was a pleasure.

San marino

And finally, we got to the park “Italy in miniature”. It is located next to Rimini, it is not long ride.

In addition to Italy, European attractions are also represented there, you can visit all at once, as well as amusement rides and an interactive pavilion of entertaining science, where you can experiment with physical phenomena.

You can also take a gondola ride through Venice, which is only 5 times smaller than the original, and the journey ends in Piazza San Marco.

There is a 5D shuttle, a driving school where you will be given a license, an area where you will be poured water from a window, and the most popular castle with water shooters. and a monorail train that will take you around the park. Highly recommended.

Italy in miniature

The vacation on the Adriatic Sea was wonderful, time flew by quickly, and what we didn’t have time remains for the next time. Here we tried amazing pizza, cheese, wine, pasta and Italian desserts. And one ice cream is worth a whole story, we still miss it Shopping was not part of our plans, but undoubtedly it would be successful. When we were transferred to a later flight, walking the streets, waiting for a transfer, we spent all the remaining money. All small shops with all sorts of nonsense contain, mostly Indians, you can bargain with them, I did it, a lot of Africans. Next to us there was a huge two-story supermarket where you could buy anything, even ready-made food. Restaurants, of course, are expensive, use pizzerias and restaurants, this is a budget option. And be careful in cheap stores where non-Italians work, things there may be disposable.

Have a nice holiday!
