Travel to Mummis land

Surely everyone has read stories about funny Moomins by Finnish writer Tove Janson. I read about them as a child, and then to my daughter. And, of course, one could not miss the opportunity to visit them.

The country, or park, Moomin-trolls is located in the Finnish city of Naantali, about 14 km from Turku. Bus number 7 goes from the Turku Market Square. It takes about 20 minutes to find it easily, signs will lead through the park with a Gothic cathedral (we saw singing under the organ, it was very impressive), to the pier. The park is located on an island, which can be reached by a bridge.

There is no better place for a park. An island with a pine forest. The air is amazing.

At the entrance they give a card in Russian.

Almost immediately, after the shops and cafes, he meets you. That very blue house. And there they are, the Moomins. They exist. Well, how can you not believe in a fairy tale!

You can climb into the house and examine everything. There is Moomin’s kitchen, where everything is as described, Moomin’s office, where you can try on his hat, Sniff and Moomin’s rooms, with a rope ladder, along which he got out. from the window, and the basement is full of Moomin’s famous jam.

Opposite the house is the Hemul Fire Station, where you can press buttons, turn on the siren, and there is a uniform on the wall.

There is also a Police Department, where violators are periodically imprisoned – Khaisuli or Stinki. Characters that are not very well known to us

There are many paths along the island, along which you can go to the bath with Dront Edward,

where Tuu-Tikki lives in winter, who will teach you how to knit sea knots and weave a bracelet.

to the Moominpapa ship, which you can climb and play.

Go to the observation deck with a view of the Finnish official’s residence (I don’t remember who). If the flag is at half-mast on it, then he is at home.

a barefoot path, where it is recommended to walk barefoot, and then wash your feet in a small pool, Snusmumrik’s tent, recreation area. It is very pleasant to lie down in a hammock to the sound of pine trees.

You can come across the witch’s house. Beware of spiders.

Labyrinth where Tofsla and Fivsla will meet you

Caves of Morra and Hatifnutt, full of mysterious sounds.

You can meet Shnyrk, a friend of Moomin’s youth, who lives in a coffee can and still loves to collect buttons.

There is also its own theater “Emma”. The performances are in Finnish and Swedish with subtitles in different languages, incl. and in Russian.

There is also a stage near the blue Moomin house, and there periodically, according to the schedule, something happens too.

In the forest, you can come across a Moomin grotto with a suspension bridge and a waterfall erupting every 5 minutes.

The park is full of inhabitants to hug, take pictures and chat with. Everyone knows English. You can take Moomin selfies and print photos.

If you download the application, you can not only get discounts in Moomin-dola stores, but also the schedule of performances and a map, and a description of the heroes. And much more, will always be at hand.

Nearby is the Vaski adventure park, where we did not go, but they say it is also interesting.

In Tampere, there is also the Moomins Museum, where every year, on August 11, Tove Jansson’s birthday is celebrated. Entry to this day is traditionally free. You can fry marshmallows, hug Moomins, and get acquainted with the full history of this family.

After this we will say goodbye to the park and its inhabitants, taking a part of it with us. Time flew by quickly, it is time for the Moomins to go into hibernation.

Next in line is Pippi Longstocking Park in neighboring Sweden.
