Santiago of Chile

This day is completely dedicated to Santiago, although in fact, after all the flights, there is still time left, just to take a walk, which we did.
we returned to Santiago and climbed the hill of San Cristobal. You can climb the serpentine or cable car on the funicular. From above you can see the whole city and you can clearly see that it lies in a bowl surrounded by mountains, which is why it is so hot here.

There is also a statue of the Virgin Mary with the church of the same name.

Then we arrived in the center of the city, to the main square. There are a lot of people. Every evening there is a performance on the square, a man says something funny, people laugh. It looks like jokes about the situation in the country or something like that. Noticed us, something said and went in our direction, the people had fun, we hurried to escape just in case) Many representatives of Venezuela and Colombia are sitting in rows along the houses, a friend said they are waiting for job offers. There is a wedding nearby. It is customary to celebrate everything on the street, in crowded places. Like in Italy. Have fun, sing songs. People, do not push through. A friend kept repeating to hold the phone tight, and if the phone is expensive, do not get it at all. Hold everything tight and do not leave.

We walked through the center and the streets. In the evening there were several times less people, and when it got dark, almost no one was left. It was warm and good. Somewhere they played the violin, somewhere they celebrated something again. On one of the streets people just danced. .This is what they do every day. The walk was a real pleasure.

We visited the local supermarket. The local avocado is divine, the melon of the “tuna” variety is simply orange inside. Palmitos, canned fish with mussels, Chilean chocolate, palm honey, cherry fruit, olive oil.

In the morning, after all the suitcases were barely closed, we decided to make the last walk in Santiago. The contrast with the evening walk was striking. There were 2 times more people. Just crowds are walking along the streets. Again the instruction came not to wave the phone, to hold everything tight . The police are on duty.

On every corner they sell something from stalls. Food, including the heat. But it was nice to warm up and did not want to return home in the winter. Local music groups shock passing tourists)
